FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

No, I am not in network with any insurance providers. I made this choice in order to prioritize one on one care and spend more time with my patients. I’m not the cheapest PT you can find, but you will receive exceptional care.

Below are some benefits I offer, which are hard to find in an insurance-based clinic:

  • Lower volume of clients, with high scheduling flexibility

  • Ability to get in quickly or last minute

  • Direct communication with me via text/phone/email for scheduling and questions about your care

  • One on one sessions with no use of aides or assistants

I am happy to provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for physical therapy services, but I have no control over the level of reimbursement you might receive.

This is a good explainer on superbills and out of network care.

Do I need a prescription for physical therapy?

Under California direct access law you do not need a prescription for physical therapy unless care last longer than 12 visits or 45 days, whichever comes first. This applies whether a patient is paying cash or going through insurance. If our physical therapy plan of care extends beyond 12 visits or 45 days, then a medical doctor will need to provide a prescription for us to continue care. This limitation does not apply to training or wellness services, only physical therapy.

How do I know if I need pelvic floor physical Therapy?

Pelvic floor physical therapy is appropriate if you are experiencing pelvic pain or bowel/bladder dysfunction. Here are some common issues that benefit from pelvic floor physical therapy: pain with sex, urinary leakage, increased urinary urge and frequency, chronic constipation, tailbone pain, and vaginal prolapse. Pelvic floor assessment is typically performed with a finger inserted into the vaginal canal to test for muscle strength and tension. This will help determine the root cause of your symptoms. However, rectal assessment or no internal assessment are also options depending on your needs and comfort level.

Do you have a physical location?

I am offering services at Spaces Wellness in Highland Park on Tuesdays from 8am - 3pm and at Village Birth in Pasadena on Wednesdays & Thursdays. Please see “In-Office Services & Rates” for more information!

Do you accept HSA/FSA cards?

Yes!

Can I see you for physical therapy if I have medicare or Medicaid?

Unfortunately I cannot accept cash for physical therapy services if a patient has Medicare or Medicaid as their insurance (even if you are not using your insurance with me). Medicare and Medicaid do not allow cash payment for services that they cover, which includes medically necessary physical therapy. If you have Medicare or Medicaid I can work with you on training or wellness services, but not physical therapy.
